"I was born and raised in Gdansk, Poland, a beautiful seaside city. Because I was born during communistic times, I spent most of my childhood at my grandparents' cottage in the middle of the woods.

 

Milking cows, hunting for mushrooms, and berries in the woods were how my time was spent. I also watched my grandma bake delicious cakes when I was younger.

 

I came to the U.S. in 2003 as an exchange student to work at the summer camp and learn English. I met my husband there, and the rest is history.

 

I loved baking cakes for my kids, but it wasn't until about six years ago that my friends pushed me to sell my cakes to others.

 

So I did, and after working two jobs and making cakes on the side for over three years, I decided to quit my day job and do baking full time. In 2 weeks it will be two years since I made that move and I'm still here, doing what I love."
